Install Snow Leopard retail on Dell Vostro 1510

THIS IS AN EDUCATIONAL GUIDE NOT INTENDED FOR ANY ILLEGAL USE OF Mac OSX.

This is another guide for installing Mac OSx on so called PCs. Last time I wrote about how to install Mac OSx 10.5.7 on Dell Vostro 1510. And that was through the customized Mac OSx version called iAtkos version 7. I installed on my Dell Vostro 1510 and all the things worked excluding SD card and inbuilt microphone which I hardly use. So it was a good installation for me at least and I used it for some time but since Snow Leopard is out I have been trying to get some hacked versions but could not get. One or two versions are there and I tried them but they didn't work at all on my Dell Vostro 1510.

So finally I decided to install Snow Leopard from the retail DVD. I realized that installing the retail version of Mac OSx Snow Leopard is far better than installing any of the customized versions available on internet. Here is the guide for you if you have a Dell Vostro 1510 and want to convert it into a Mac Book Pro running Snow Leopard.

How to add unique tax rates to product in osCommerce.

Ok..So lets see how to add different tax rates to different products in osCommerce. The whole idea is very simple. You have to have a tax class with the desired tax rate and then attach it to the product. Following is the step by step guide for your ease.

Step 1:

The very first thing we need to do is to create a new tax class. Because one tax class can contain only one tax rate so we have to create a new class whenever we want to add a tax rate which is not there in any tax class. So in short, if we want a new tax for a particular product we need a new class.

To add a new class login as administrator.
        Location/Taxes >> Tax Class
Add a new class here by clicking on the "new tax class" button.

Successful installation of iAtkos v7 on Dell Vostro 1510

Before I begin, I would like to remind the viewers that installing Mac operating system on non-apple machines is illegal.

Recently I installed iATKOS v7 on Dell Vostro 1510 and everything is working fine out of the box. Previously I installed Mac OSx with XxX 10.5.6 Leo Install Disc Rev1 but that was not a very nice experience.

It ran with the following problems --

  • Sound was not working but after a little googling I could get the sound without automatic switching between internal and external speakers.
  • Though I could get the sound but still mic was not working and I search a lot on internet but no result.
  • I get kernel panic frequently. This was the worst of all the problems.

iATKOS v7 was a great experience because it doesn't asks you to put a lot of information and most of the things works out of the box. For those who have the same machine like mine I am explaining below how to get it installed well on your machine.
